Kairos’ 1-2-1 and group work offers flexible support to facilitate personal development.

We do this by:

– Developing an individual support plan with our service users

– Providing help with appointments, including dentist and doctor appointments, the Job Centre, housing providers, court appearances etc.

– Advocating for women when needed to make sure their voices and experiences are heard and understood

Our service user needs are multi-layered and usually include homelessness, drug abuse, alcohol dependency and complex mental and physical health issues. On top of this, the stigma and isolation faced by women caught up in sex work means that they are further excluded from the mainstream services they need to engage with to become more healthy and stable.

In the past year, 59 women have received 1-2-1 support on 735 occasions. With Kairos’ support, 28 women have improved their housing status, including 12 women who were supported off the streets and into emergency accommodation.

In addition to 1-2-1 support, Kairos also runs group sessions for women to grow in confidence and to develop skills. These sessions are tailored to the women’s needs and cover two broad areas of wellbeing/creativity and education.

£25 could pay for an hour of 1-2-1 support for a woman working on self-esteem and personal goals. You can donate here today.
