We are delighted to announce that Ellie Orton has joined the Kairos team as the new CEO.
Ellie has 25 years’ experience working in specialist social care, informal education and social change organisations both in the voluntary and statutory sector locally, nationally and internally. This includes volunteering in Romania from the age of 19; faith-based youth work in Warwickshire and Somerset, including being a Diocesan Youth and Children’s Adviser for the Anglican Diocese of Bath and Wells. Ellie worked for 3 years in Southern African with street children and farm worker children and their communities.
Following 10 years working for Warwickshire County Council in Targeted Youth Support and Early Intervention Services, Ellie worked for a start-up national charity called the Jon Egging Trust, offering live changing programmes with young people who have significant barriers to achievement through teamwork, leadership and employability skills. The charity works in close partnership with the RAF and in particular the world famous aerobatic team The Red Arrows. Ellie was Head of Youth Programmes nationally and Interim CEO growing the charity from working with 100 young people in 2014 to working with over 7000 young people in 2017.
Ellie says: “I am really excited about joining the fantastic team at Kairos WWT and leading this amazing organisation into its new phase of growth, capacity building and sustainability, so that we can continue to provide vulnerable and sexually exploited women in Coventry with the support they need for safety, stability and self-belief.”
If you would like Ellie to visit your organisation, company, community group or church to talk about the work of Kairos or the lessons she learnt working alongside the world famous Red Arrows and Professor Brian Cox for the last 4 years, please contact 02476 559550 or send a message through the contact page.
