Coventry Fun Run 2015: Team KairosWWT hits the streets again!

1 copyOn Sunday 4th October a merry band of 31 volunteers, trustees, staff, supporters and little people congregated at The War Memorial Park to participate in or support this year’s Coventry Fun Run, organised by Coventry Three Spires Round Table. The wonderful thing about this Fun Run, is that it is the only independent fun run (and community event) in Coventry that allows runners to raise funds for their own chosen charity.

The Coventry Fun Run is a 3.5 mile run, which some of our runners took by storm, and some of our littler runners had a jolly good attempt of!

We had an absolute blast and were proud to wear our t-shirts, designed by one of our service-users. When she saw the photos from the event, and of our Annual Report (which hosted the same image as it’s front cover) she was moved by the experience of seeing her artwork used in such a meaningful way. She later texted one of our Project Worker’s to say “Thank you Lis and the whole of Kairos, thank you so much for your kindness, it means so much. Thank you for putting so much effort into the magazine and the t-shirts! It is brilliant!”

Volunteers ran a stall in the charity village of handmade cakes, a tombola and bric a brac while 19 pairs of feet hit the streets.

With money still coming in, to date we have raised £550…and there is still plenty of time to sponsor the team via our Big Give Page:

We want to thank everyone who supported our efforts this year, including our amazing volunteers and trustees, those who came out to support us on the day and everyone who has sponsored us, or provided items for our stall to date. Thanks also to Paul Billinger who captured some wonderful pictures from the day, and to Dhiran Vagdia and the whole team from Coventry Three Spires Round Table for a brilliantly organised event.
